Compare Planners
This is the “make it make sense” page — especially for first-time buyers. We’ll help you choose the right layout, size, and planner length (plus start month + personalization).
If you want something closest to a traditional planner, start with Weekly. You’ll see your whole week at a glance and it’s the easiest format to learn.
Need something else?
Step 1: Choose your layout
Layout is the biggest difference — it controls how your week/day is structured. If you’re unsure, weekly is the easiest “yes” for most customers.
Weekly Planner (recommended)
Weekly planners give you a clear overview without feeling overwhelming. You plan faster, rewrite less, and your week stays visible.
Weekly layouts (choose the feel):
Horizontal
Classic weekly + lists. Great for most people.
Vertical Hourly
Best for appointments + time-blocking.
Vertical Lined
Structured columns with lined writing space.
Choose Weekly if you want a clear week-at-a-glance view. Choose Daily if you need a full page per day with more writing room.
Daily Planner (maximum detail)
Best if you want a full page per day — ideal for heavy schedules, long lists, routines, and notes.
Academic Planner (school schedules)
Built for classes, assignments, projects, and term planning. Great for students (and anyone tracking coursework).
Teacher Planner (classroom planning)
Designed for teachers — weekly planning with teacher-friendly organization and tracking tools.
Weekly is the easiest “starter” layout. Then choose your size + length below. Most customers land on 7x9 Weekly as the most balanced option.
Step 2: Choose the right planner size
Size affects writing space, portability, and readability. This section helps you choose the most comfortable format.
Tip: If you write larger or prefer more white space, size up for comfort.
| Size | Dimensions | Why people love it | Consider this if… |
|---|---|---|---|
| A5 | 5.83" × 8.27" | Compact, easy to travel with, smaller footprint on a desk or lap. | You want maximum portability (bags, travel, carrying daily). |
| 7 × 9 | 7" × 9" | The best middle ground: roomy writing space + still practical to carry. | You want one planner that works for “everything.” (Most popular pick.) |
| 8.5 × 11 | 8.5" × 11" | Maximum writing area. Great for bigger handwriting and lots of planning room. | You mostly plan at a desk and want the easiest-to-read, most open layout. |
If you ever feel like you’re “cramming” your writing, the problem is usually size. Moving from A5 → 7×9 (or 7×9 → 8.5×11) instantly makes planning feel easier.
Step 3: Choose your planner length
We offer your same full-size planner in a slimmer planner-length option. To get the lighter version, choose the smaller planner length option on the product page.
The smaller planner length option is dramatically slimmer and easier to carry day to day.
| Planner Type | Standard Length | Half Length | Why choose the smaller option? | Why choose the larger option? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Weekly / Academic / Teacher | 12 months | 6 months | Smaller coil + lighter feel while still keeping a solid planning horizon. | One planner covers the full year, so you do not need to switch mid-year and can keep long-term plans together. |
| Daily | 6 months | 3 months | Daily pages take more space, so the smaller length option keeps it lightweight and easier to use. | More included months means fewer planner swaps and a longer continuous record of goals, routines, and notes. |
If you love the lightweight feel of the smaller planner-length option, many customers buy two (or more) with consecutive start dates so their planners stay slim all year.
It is also an easy way to try different covers or layouts, and it pairs perfectly with our ongoing BOGO (Buy One Planner Get One 40% Off) sale.
Last step: Customize it
After choosing layout, size, and length, you’ll customize your planner. These are the options customers ask about most:
Choose the month your planner begins — including future months — so your planner starts exactly when you want it. (Many options also include an Undated version.)
Add your name to the front cover and include a personal message inside the cover (quote, dedication, reminder — great for gifts and keepsakes).
Choose internals style and spiral color so your planner matches your preferences (and is easy to use).
If you buy multiple planners, we recommend using consecutive start dates so each one is ready when you need it — especially when choosing the smaller planner-length option to keep them lightweight.
